Perry's claim to compensation in respect of the lot in question.
Mr. Perry is at fault in his statement that many others besides himself failed to comply with the sixth condition of purchase without incurring the penalty under the ninth condition, and he is inaccurate as to the amount of premium paid by him, being $270 and not $170, and not $975 as stated.
As regards Mr. Perry's contention that he was well known to the Treasurer, and that it would therefore have been easy for him to inform that his Crown rent was in arrear, I cannot admit that it is the duty of the Treasurer to distinguish between persons known and persons unknown to him, and there is no reason to doubt that the usual procedure was followed.
